and older who gather on an irregular basis for inspirational experiences of fun and fellowship. They travel to places of interest both near and far to learn more about the wonderful world the Lord has given us to enjoy.
There is no set schedule for meetings, thus the group is open to any adventure that comes its way. In the past two years, members have experienced the N.C. Pottery Collection at the home of Moll and Charles T. Haigh, Christmas at the Poe House, the Sandhills Horticultural Gardens in Pinehurst and
the Monet Exhibit in Raleigh. Participation and suggestions for outings are encouraged and welcomed. For information, contact Lib Wilson.
OWLS EVENT
The OWLS are planning a bus trip to Raleigh to see an exhibit of the Dead Sea Scrolls at the N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences. The trip is planned for Oct. 9, with departure at 10 a.m.
The outing will include a Dutch treat lunch at the Arco Café, and the cost for the bus trip and ticket to the exhibit is $30. Parishioners will board the return bus at 3 p.m. Those interested can sign up at the church office. For information on the exhibit, Click Here.
MOVIE FOYERS
Movie Foyers at St. John's is open to all parishioners. A movie is selected and a notice put in the journal that the group will see that movie on a certain date, 4:00 showing. We usually meet on a Saturday. After the movie, everyone picks up a dinner snack, fast food and a drink. They meet at parishioners' homes or at St. John's after the movie, eat dinner and discuss the movie. Wine and dessert is provided by different parishioners. If someone cannot see the movie on the selected Saturday, he/she goes when convenient and meets the group on movie foyer Saturday for dinner and discussion. Call the church office at 483-7405 for details.
